### Site Background

The site is a factory in northern Taiwan established in 1973, with a diverse history of production lines, including electronic printing and optoelectronics. Currently, it is an active chemical product manufacturing facility.

### Pollution Status

In 2015, the Taoyuan County Government designated this location as a soil and groundwater pollution site. The main pollutants included chlorinated organics and TPH\*, covering an area of 695 m2. The complex site layout included extensive underground pipelines and structures, with pollution hotspots located beneath these underground installations.

### Remediation Approach

ApolloTech was contracted in 2015 to conduct pollution investigation, remediation design, and execution. The site remediation was completed and approved for de-listing in 2022, enabling full remediation while allowing the factory to continue operations uninterrupted.

### Remediation in Complex Sites

This project presented considerable challenges due to underground pipelines and structures, ongoing pollutant release beneath these structures, an extremely acidic subsurface environment, and limited operational space for remediation. ApolloTech employed a range of investigation tools to build an accurate site conceptual model. Following a "remediation train" strategy, we applied phase-specific remediation methods, enabling precise and effective reagent delivery to targeted contamination zones.
